After growing up in rural Suffolk, Dave was drawn to a career in the natural world resulting in a degree in Applied and Agricultural Zoology. Research work followed which was cut short by a horrific motorbike accident. Whilst recovering, and still on crutches, he completed a PGCE and became a teacher of Science. Throughout his teaching career Dave has held three deputy posts, three headships and an executive headship. At each step of his career Dave has enhanced the lives of the children within his care by encouraging the development of the natural environment, introducing chickens, growing vegetables, creating natural ponds and letting everyone get their hands dirty. In early 2025 whilst at a natural juncture in his career, a chance encounter with Jo resulted in his involvement with Greener Growth and the start of another adventure.
