I have resided in Suffolk now for nearly 39 years moving from Lancashire after completing a National Certificate in Agriculture which took me to New Zealand Dairy Farming for 6 months. I was an assistant Herdsman in Lancashire for 4 years until I moved to South Wales and then to Suffolk to Join the Prison Service as an Agricultural Craftsman in 1986, where I was supervising Youth Offending Prisoners with menial labour tasks such as harvesting cabbages by hand in freezing snow, in gangs of 12 using machetes.
Later I joined a team of 4 Dairy Herdsmen running a 350-cow herd employing adult Prisoners assisting with producing pasteurised milk supplying southeast Prisons with Milk.
In 2005 I became a Prison Officer joining a specialised Lifer Unit working with Juvenile Prisoners who had committed serious crimes. I then went on to work in Case Management where I had caseloads working with juveniles as part of their release process with Youth offending teams.
In 2013 the Prison was re rolled for adult prisoners and I currently work on a PIPE Unit (Psychologically Informed Planned environment) working with Male adult Prisoners who present with many types of Personality Disorders who are working towards release.
I am now partially retired and enjoy the challenge of working as part of Greener Growth Team learning new skills and making a difference.
Hobbies Big Motorcycles, Allotment, Enjoying being alive with good company.
