Having renovated his property, Rory was just coming towards the end of his project when we looked around his garden. It was a pile of mud sloping towards the back of the house with building materials and an old shed. As Rory began clearing the garden, we got on with designing a safe and secure garden for his young children, but one which could be productive and private too.
Rory loved our idea of steps up the slope immediately behind the house, leading up to a private area at the end sectioned off by live & dry willow archways and screening. The raised beds either side of the steps would make an ideal Mediterranean-style herb and salad bed.
Throughout the Winter months of 2015 Rory & Greener Growth worked hard together. It was a real combined effort as budgets were tight after such a long renovation project.
It was wonderful to see such a mound of mud transform into a beautiful and safe environment for the family to enjoy. The green willow had a profound effect on the finish, making it look a little different and creating a private sunbathing area at the end of the garden – the sunniest area away from the shadow of the house.
